Oscar Schmidt by Washburn OU2T Tenor Size Ukulele Reviews

I am less impressed with this tenor. This instrument frets out well and stays in tune for the duration of our 30 minute lesson (but not a minute longer, though I must admit I have the original strings on the instrument). I am not happy with the tonality of the instrument. I was expecting a much richer sounding instrument but agree that at this price point my expectations were probably a bit high. Overall I think this is a very playable instrument for a beginner who wants to experiment with the Ukelele. I would recommend either a soprano (they're supposed to sound kind of tinny anyways right) or a more expensive tenor for someone who is looking for better sound quality. 1 of 1 people found the following review helpful: ![]() This review is from: Oscar Schmidt by Washburn OU2T Tenor Size Ukulele (If I had a webcam, I would do a video review, but I don't.) I got this ukulele for Christmas last year. I haven't been able to put it down ever since. It's my first ukulele, and I couldn't have asked for a better one. The strings it came with were good, but I replaced them and now the sound, to me, is absolutely wonderful. :) I will never regret learning how to play this lovely instrument! 1 of 1 people found the following review helpful: ![]() This review is from: Oscar Schmidt by Washburn OU2T Tenor Size Ukulele I purchased this Tenor Ukulele new from an ebay seller a couple of weeks ago for under $70. Compared to what I have heard on youtube, and audio samples of numerous tenor ukuleles from many makers, I am truly delighted with the sound and quality of this instrument. I have found that in order to get a Tenor Uke that sounds Significantly better than this one, you would have to spend 5 to 10 times as much. I watched a guy playing and reviewing a Kanilea all KOA Uke that costs about $1000...and except for being prettier, and having more sustain, It didn't sound that much better than this one. I have an all KOA uke myself and the same differences are true with it as well. I have played accoustic guitars for 35 years, and I have a pretty good idea of what sounds good. So, if you are shopping for a Uke that actually sounds great, but you can't spend $400+ , I recommend an Oscar Schmidt OU2T. I can't imagine that you could get better sound and quality for less. Oh, one more thing, Tuning is... Read more |
